Random numbers

Random number generator

Choose the range and generate

Choose the range and tap “Generate”.

How to use it

  1. Set the range Enter the minimum and maximum; both can come up.
  2. Choose how many Set the amount, whether repeats are allowed and whether to sort them.
  3. Generate and copy Tap “Generate” and copy all the numbers with one tap.

Ways to use it

Pick a minimum and a maximum and the generator gives you a random number in that range, both ends included. Need several? Enter the amount and tick “No repeats” so no number comes up twice, like a raffle with numbered tickets or choosing exam questions. You can also sort them from low to high and copy them all with one tap. The numbers come from your browser's cryptographic generator, which gives every value the same chance, and nothing is saved. Use it for raffles, classroom activities, picking a number from 1 to 10 or making combinations for games.

Where to use it and what to keep in mind

Handy for informal raffles, games and classes. For regulated prize draws, use a verifiable procedure and publish the rules first.

Frequently asked questions

Are the numbers really random?

They come from the browser's cryptographic generator, the same kind used for security, and every value in the range has the same chance.

How do I generate numbers without repeats?

Tick “No repeats”. The amount can't be larger than the numbers in the range; from 1 to 10, for example, you can ask for up to 10.

Does the range include the minimum and maximum?

Yes. If you choose 1 to 6, both 1 and 6 can come up, just like a die.
