Ways to play
Rock paper scissors is the quickest way to break a tie, and here you can play it on your own against the computer. Pick your move with one tap and you instantly see the computer's move, who won and why: rock crushes scissors, scissors cut paper and paper covers rock. Play free rounds or a best of 3 or best of 5 series, with a scoreboard of wins, losses and draws. The computer doesn't cheat: it picks its move at random with your browser's cryptographic generator before comparing, without seeing yours. No account needed and nothing is saved.

Frequently asked questions
What are the rules of rock paper scissors?
Rock beats scissors because it crushes them, scissors beat paper because they cut it and paper beats rock because it covers it. If both pick the same move, it's a draw.
Does the computer cheat or see my move?
No. Its move comes at random from your browser's cryptographic generator and is chosen without looking at yours; each option has a one-in-three chance every round.
What does best of 3 mean?
The first to win 2 rounds takes the series; in best of 5, the first to 3. Draws don't count toward the series, the round is simply played again.
Is there a strategy to win?
Against a computer that picks at random, no move wins more than another in the long run. Against people, watching helps: many players repeat the move they just won with.
